This creates threads of fine metal which can be a hazard as they are usually very sharp and pointed. Wooling is caused by an unstable lid placement, using worn-out seaming rollers, as well as using a damaged chuck.<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li class=\"elementor-icon-list-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-icon-list-icon\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<i aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"fas fa-circle\"><\/i>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-icon-list-text\">Vee: A vee refers to pointed extensions under the cover of the lid. They are visible and can also be felt by the hand as small bumps that cover the entire circumference. In some severe situations, the vee folds over itself, and the leading culprit for this defect includes using worn-out seaming rolls, using defective lids, or using a damaged seaming head.<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li class=\"elementor-icon-list-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-icon-list-icon\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<i aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"fas fa-circle\"><\/i>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-icon-list-text\">Mushroom Flange: This is a can flange that is over formed, which leads to the body hook being unnecessarily long. It is hard to detect it unless the can seam is stripped for inspection. The leading cause of a mushroom flange is the application of excessive pressure in the filling process, using worn-out chucks, or using lids that were damaged in handling.<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li class=\"elementor-icon-list-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-icon-list-icon\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<i aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"fas fa-circle\"><\/i>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-icon-list-text\">False Seam: This is one of the most common and hard to detect defects. It is a condition where the lid and the body are not hooked properly but still give the impression that the seal is interlocked. This makes leakages and contamination very easy as there\u2019s space big enough to allow things to go in and come out. Common causes for this include using a bent flange and mis-assembly of the can and lid.<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li class=\"elementor-icon-list-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-icon-list-icon\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<i aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"fas fa-circle\"><\/i>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-icon-list-text\">Droop: A droop happens when a small part of the seam stretches all the way to the bottom edge of the seam width. They don\u2019t have any huge impact on the structural integrity of the can.
